Three including father, son die in Panchagarh lightning strikes

Three people including a father-son duo were killed in two separate lightning strikes in two villages of Tetulia upazila on Monda, reports UNB. 

The deceased were identified as Md Mohammad Ali, 55,  his son Anisur Rahman, 35, of Khuniagas village, and Ripon Islam, 14, son of Mansur Alam of Chilapara village of the upazila.

In Khuniagas village, Ali and his son were cutting paddy in the field when a thunderbolt struck them leaving them severely injured.

On being taken to the Sadar Hospital, the on-duty doctor declared them dead, according to Dr Md Atahar Siddique, a Medical Officer at the hospital.

Besides, in Chilapara village, Ripon was fetching their poultry ducks from the field when he was struck.

He was rushed to Debiganj Upazila Health Complex, where a doctor declared him dead, said Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Hasinur Rahman.
