Three deaths, 1,790 new Covid cases in 24 hours

Bangladesh reported three deaths and 1,790 fresh Covid-19 cases in the 24 hours till 8am Thursday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The positivity rate was recorded at 16.54 percent after testing 10,822 samples across the country. 

The country reported four deaths and 1,728 new Covid cases in the previous day.

The Coronavirus has killed 29,188 people and infected 19,86,490 so far, according to the statement.

The recovery count rose to 19,10,477 after another 678 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the past one day.

From the beginning of the pandemic, 96.17 percent Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.47 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.

Among the 29,188 fatalities, 12,839 occurred in Dhaka division, 5,873 in Chattogram, 2,144 in Rajshahi, 3,720 in Khulna, 983 in Barishal, 1,329 in Sylhet, 1,417 in Rangpur and 883 in Mymensingh divisions.
