We are deeply saddened and concerned by the attack on the Hindu community’s temples in Baliadangi Upazila in Thakurgaon district. Unidentified miscreants carried out the attacks under the cover of darkness, vandalising idols in 14 temples at different villages in Dhantala, Charol and Paria Unions in the Upazila between Saturday night and Sunday dawn, according to media report.Nine temples in Dhantala, one in Charol and four in Paria were attacked. The hands, feet and heads of the idols were smashed to bits.
It has been noticed that the communal forces are mounting up ahead of the next national polls and they can unleash a ‘reign of terror’ across the country anytime whenever they will get any scope. In this regard, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat in a planned way are fuelling to stage communal riots throughout the country in order to imperil democracy. They also continue plotting to carry out mayhem across the country. They have now resorted to conspiracy to spoil communal harmony in the country. But the country’s people are confident that the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will surely identify the culprits responsible for the attacks on temples of the Hindu community.
We believe our country is now a safe haven for all people irrespective of caste, creed, and religious affinity.

People of all religions are now living peacefully in the country. Therefore, the country will reach its dream destination with united efforts of all communities as it has already become a role model of development because of the non-communal spirit of the government.
We want the authorities to investigate this thoroughly and nab the real culprits. It is very clear that BNP-Jamaat clique is behind all the unrest occurring in the country now as they want to destabilise the country at any cost. So, they have chosen the place to put the government under doubt.
We the people of the country, will have to unitedly build resistance against the evil forces. Apart from the high command of the government, ministries concerned and law enforcement and intelligence agencies must keep in touch with the local administration and remain alert.
Everyone must remain alert about the communal forces. Besides, law enforcement agencies must foil conspirators’ plot so that they will not be able to create instability by launching such attack again.
We all must remain alert and should resist the evil forces together for the welfare of the country and its people. Besides, those involved in destroying religious harmony must be brought to justice and no offender should be spared. In this regard, people imbued with spirit of Liberation War must get united against those who want to destroy the communal harmony in the country before the national election.
