Technical training becoming popular among youths in Chuadanga

Chuadanga Technical Training Center is transforming unskilled manpower into skilled manpower. Youth in the area are becoming self-reliant through training here as well as employment at home and abroad. Their destiny is changing as they are sending remittances from abroad every year. Unemployed youth and young women are being trained through 13 courses at the training centre.

According to the relevant sources, the Chuadanga Technical Training Center was set up in Vemrulla in the municipal area of the district town in 2014. The training center was constructed at a cost of Tk 29.5  crore. There are academic-administrative buildings, dormitories and principal's residences. Although it started with 5 trades at the time of its establishment, at present training is being imparted regularly in 13 courses. The trainees are being imparted hands-on training with modern equipment. Every day in the morning and afternoon shifts, the teachers continue to make maximum efforts to build a skilled manpower.

Training is being imparted in various courses including Computer, Electrical, Automotive, Welding, Civil, Garments, housekeeping chores at Chuadanga Technical Training Center. Training is provided in different periods including 6 months, 4 months and 3 months. There is also a 2 year SSC Vocational Course. At present 515 trainees in two shifts are participating in written, oral and practical classes in 13 courses.

The Chuadanga Technical Training Center is being run under the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment. Under various projects, 13 courses are running for a fixed period.

Chuadanga Technical Training Center Principal (Acting) Mushabberuzzaman said so far 5,863 young men and women have received training in 13 courses from Chuadanga Technical Training Center. Another 515 are undergoing ongoing courses. He added that another technical training center of the same type would be set up in Alamdanga upazila of the district soon. In this way, the youth of the area will get the opportunity to receive training.
