With the increasing demand for technical skills both at home and abroad the government is trying to focus on rejuvenating the technical education sector in our country.

Eventually there are initiatives being taken by the government to introduce technical education in all secondary education institutes. This will hopefully be able to create adequate scopes for the youths to gain technical knowledge in their desired line of work.

A report published in this daily showed that by 2022 all secondary education institutes including madrasas will be adapted to teach technical skills required to bolster the country’s and foreign industrial sectors and pave the path towards achieving SDGs. This will undoubtedly be a benchmark for the entire world.

Never before has such a situation been witnessed where all secondary schools and education institutes are imparting knowledge to the learners to develop technical skills. This will also help build a better image of Bangladesh in the world arena.

It would be  difficult to arouse interest among

the youths and the parents alike to opt for

technical education in this modern era

However, just creating the education scope and building infrastructure is not enough. There is a tendency among the youths of the country to veer towards general education and strive to become an engineer or doctor.

In such a case it would be difficult to arouse interest in the minds of the youths along with the parents to opt for technical education in this modern era. But, it is also needed to create awareness among them that in this era of fourth industrial revolution technical skills are the way to go to achieve better results individually and nationally.

In that continuation the report also conveyed the message that technical education will be made compulsory for ninth and tenth graders.

This decision of the education ministry will open up new possibilities for the students other than the conventional three divisional tracks generally offered during these classes.

Above all, there is ample opportunity to be created in the technical sectors of the country which is ever expanding. In this regard, it is imperative that enough awareness and interest be created amongst the citizens so that people might actually feel encouraged to develop technical skills.
