Debarati Gupta’s upcoming ‘Onek Diner Pore’ is sure to give you major friendship goals. The women-centric social drama sees Swastika Mukherjee as Swagata, Sudiptaa Chakraborty playing Debolina, Rupanjana Mitra as Sayantani and lastly Palomi Ghosh as Kuhu.
The story revolves around a group of women from the ‘99 batch of a reputed Convent School who are settled in their lives. Swagata after 18 years takes the initiative through social media to arrange a get together. Everyone was thrilled to meet, but on the day of the meeting when she reached the school campus, she discovered only four among the 150 girls turned up for the reunion.
Debolina a gossipmonger with a cool corporate career, donning her branded attire and accessories walks into the campus. The onetime model and promising actor Sayantani, whose career in acting never took off followed in. And finally, to their shock, the ghost from their past Kuhu turned up. Kuhu and Swagata were the staunchest rivals in studies throughout their school days. After completing her PhD, Kuhu had disappeared to Stanford. For the last 14 years, she had not been in touch with any of her friends and her arrival from US was a surprise to all.
After the exchange of few pleasantries and memories, the bitter, hidden truths started to resurface. Debolina thrashed Sayantani by poking at her emotional weakest point. Sayantani broke down in tears and admitted that her ‘Model Grooming Centre’ was a hog wash. Kuhu reveals that she had her fifth break-up in her live-in relationships. While reacting vehemently to her own crisis, Sayantani revealed a secret about Debalina, who was pretentious all through. What happens next forms the crux of the film.
