A patient on Thursday noon died in Khulna Medical College and Hospital with coronavirus-like symptoms (fever and breathing problem). The deceased was identified as Mostafijur Rahman, hailed from Helatola area of Khulna town. Dr Shailendra Nath Biswas of Corona Unit Focal point of Khulna Medical College and Hospital said we suspected the patients could have died from novel coronavirus attack as he developed fever and breathing complications.

He underwent a thyroid surgery at a private hospital in Dhaka recently, where a patient died from Covid-19. A doctor of the Dhaka hospital also got infected with the virus, he added. The Khulna resident left the Dhaka hospital followed by the incident.

Though he was asked to stay under self-isolation, he travelled to Khulna and got admitted to the Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) hiding his medical history, he exclaimed.      The body has been kept at KMCH morgue, said Dr Biswas. He said, "We have notified the IEDCR (Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research). They will decide the next course of action.  Meanwhile, we've sent to home quarantine those doctors, nurses and health-workers who contacted with the patient".
