Sheikh Russel KC won’t play BPL, demand referee suspension

Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, former treble winners including the league title decided to pass away from the ongoing TVS Bangladesh Premier League football demanding suspension and punishment two referees of the league. 

In a press release from the club on Wednesday stated they demanded suspension and punishment referees Alamgir Sarker and Bitu Raj who conducted matches of Sheikh Russel against Bashundhara and Police FC. 

According to the press release, Alamgir officiated the match between Sheikh Russel and Bashundhara Kings at Bashundhara Kings Arena on Feb 28 while Bitu Raj officiated the match between Sheikh Russel and Police FC in Rajshahi on March 18 and some decisions of those matches were controversial.

Regrading the situation, Sheikh Russel had a meeting on Tuesday night and took their decision not play in the ongoing league and demanded punishment of the referees, they called controversial.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Russel are now are on the second last position on the league points table with six points from nine outings when they could manage only one win and three draws. Russel also sacked their coach Saiful Bari Titu and manager Khondokar Wasim Iqbal after the team suffered five defeats in a row.
