Awami League Joint General Secretary and Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a symbol of the spirit of liberation war, democracy, development and progress in Bangladesh, and a symbol of women's awakening and women's progress in the world context. The development and progress in all areas of the country has been possible because of the magical leadership of Jana Netri Bangabandhu and those who say that Pakistan was better, they have no right to do politics in this country.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural phase of the two-day 'Sheikh Hasina Janmotseva' organized by Hasumani's Pathshala organization on the occasion of the Prime Minister's 76th birthday at Nalinikant Bhattashali Auditorium of the National Museum at Shahbag in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.

President of Hasumani's Pathshala, Marufa Akhtar Popi, presided over the opening session titled 'Colourful Excitement of Blooming Flowers', Minister of State for Housing and Public Works Sharif Ahmed as special guest, Chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Sazzadul Hasan and Secretary of National Curriculum and Textbook Board Nazma Akhter Biblabli spoke as invited speakers. Earlier, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. inaugurated the art exhibition. Akhtaruzzaman.

Greeting and best wishes to Sheikh Hasina, Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud said, 'On May 17, 1981, the people's leader Sheikh Hasina entered the country as the president of Bangladesh Awami League. At that time I was the general secretary of the college branch of the Chhatra League. That day it was raining heavily and we chanted slogans - stormy rain dark night, Sheikh Hasina we are with you. On that day, nature was chanting with joy in the torrential rain to find the people's leader Sheikh Hasina on the ground soaked in the blood of Bangabandhu. And the thunderous roar of the clouds seemed to be condemning the killers of Bangabandhu. In his speech on that day, he said - even if I have to face death, I will not back down for the struggle for the rights of the people of this country. Since then, in the course of 41 years, People's leader Sheikh Hasina has stood by the people of Bangladesh with her life in her hand in all adverse situations.

Attempts have been made to kill Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Bangabandhu, 19 times one by one, but after coming back from the death valley, she did not get upset, did not hesitate, did not stop, rather she moved forward with the caravan of the struggle of the people of this country with more determination, said Dr. Hasan Mahmud.

He said that the democracy of this country has returned under the leadership of leader Sheikh Hasina. People's leader Sheikh Hasina led the movement that brought down the Ershad government in the 1990s.

The Broadcasting Minister said, "Today we hear the story of Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea changing. If people's leader Sheikh Hasina continues to be in charge of running the country, if the people give that opportunity, and after five-seven years the people of the world will hear the story of the change of Bangladesh. People's leader Sheikh Hasina stay with us for many more years, lead this country, it is our hope that Bangabandhu's dream will be realized under her leadership.

Dr Hasan said, "Today, Pakistan looks at us and sighs that Bangladesh has gone far behind them." On the other hand, BNP Secretary General said that Pakistan was good. Those who say Pakistan was good, they cannot and should not have any right to do politics in this country.

Pointing out that BNP thinks that its political existence is in crisis for the development and progress of Bangladesh under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the information minister said, "BNP has realized that their politics and future are under threat, so they are trying to create chaos in the country today. We have seen attacks on journalists in Hazaribagh yesterday in the name of rally. Desh TV's journalist Delawar was beaten up and many other journalists were humiliated. I strongly condemn this as the Information Minister and I request the journalistic community to speak up against this kind of attack.”

State Minister for Public Works Sharif Ahmed said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working tirelessly to present a developed country to the next generation. To strengthen his hand, all the forces of the liberation war must be united.

Atiqur Rahman, Principal of Vikarunnisa Noon School and College Prof. Kamrun Nahar, Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Zahid Tushar and Jagannath University Film and Television Department Chairman Prof. Junaid Halim spoke in the meeting.
