Syeda Sharmila Rahman Sithi, wife of convicted BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's deceased younger son Arafat Rahman Koko, secretly made a series of meetings with the people who usually manage and protect huge amount of illegal wealth of the Zia family. Sharmila Sithi was recently found very active and it is believed that she is engaged in clandestine meetings with some people who are closely connected with Zia family.
She also held a series of secret meetings with some mysterious persons from August 9 to August 18 this year. Sharmila held secret meeting with Asif A Chowdhury, honorary consul general of Chile in Bangladesh on August 9. Asif was elected as a member of World Federation of Consuls (FICAC)-Board of Directors in 2015. Asif was also president of Consular Corps in Bangladesh.
She also held meeting with Ashfaq Ahmed, Managing Director of the Ahmed & Company Ltd and Talat Imam, who is the director of Canadian International Institute on August 9. They hosted a private dinner party for Sharmila on the same day. Highly placed sources exclusively told this correspondent that Sharmila held another meeting with Sadekul Kabir Bizu, who is the owner of Khazana Restaurant on August 13. According to the highly confidential sources, she met with a newspaper editor on August 3 this year, the day she arrived from Malaysia.
Sharmila’s mysterious movement shows that she has been engaged in a conspiracy. Though the BNP-Jamaat cannot challenge the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina politically they are in a move for extra-constitutional means. Shairmila stayed at the Firoza Bhaban, a residence in Gulshan-2 from where Khaleda Zia was conducting nation-wide blockade programmes when petrol bombs were thrown on people on the roads, which killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people across the country.
