Shahid Kapoor is extensively promoting his upcoming film 'Kabir Singh' in which he plays the role of an alcoholic surgeon who goes on a self-destructive path after his ex-lover gets married to someone else.
With the trailer of the film garnering immense praise from all quarters, Shahid's character Kabir Singh has been compared to the one he essayed in 'Udta Punjab' in 2016. In an interview, he was asked if there were any preparations that he did to get into the character for Tommy Singh or any similarities between the two characters.
Talking about it the versatile actor said that there wasn't any prep that he undertook, but what helped him to get into the character and out of it was his family. As far as any similarities are considered, Shahid replied saying no to any similarities between the characters.
'Kabir Singh' which features Kiara Advani as the female lead is a remake of Telugu hit film 'Arjun Reddy' starring Vijay Deverakonda. Helmed by Sandeep Vanga, who also directed the original movie, the film is all set to hit the theatres on June 21. —E Times
