The first part of PhD seminar on ‘Divorce under Shariah Law and Conventional Law of Bangladesh’ was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday.
IU Law department organised the seminar at Mir Mosarraf Hoaaain academic building on the campus on Saturday.
Maksuda Akter, PhD fellow, explained her article under the supervision of Prof Dr M Rabiul Hossain, dean of Law faculty of Metropolitan University, Sylhet with Prof Dr Nurun-Nahar, chairman IU Law department presided over the seminar.
IU treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha present here as chief guest while its Law faculty dean Prof Dr Reba Mondol attended as special guest.
Prof Dr Halima Khatun and Associate Prof M Abdul Karim Khan were addressed at the seminar as discussants.
Among others Prof Dr M Zulfiquar Hossain,chairman of Public Administration department, Prof Dr AKM Nurul Islam chairman of Al-Fiqh and Legal Studies, Prof Dr M Yaqub Ali, Prof Dr Sayed Maksudur Rahman were took part here.
