A schoolboy was killed by the rival gang attack on Wednesday night at Nimaikashari area under Shiddhirganj police station in the district.
The deceased was identified as Imon,16, son of Shah Alam and a nine grader of Ali Akbar School and college at Sanarpar area of Sadar upazila.
Police and locals claimed that Imon and his two friends were standing in front of a pharmacy at Nimaikashari area at around 10 pm and then the rival gangsters headed by Russel with 8 to 10 associates attacked all three and stabbed them with sharp weapons.
Locals rescued all three rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where an on duty physician declared dead to Imon and two other injured friends Shahriar and Rony are undergoing treatment.Slain Imon’s mother claimed that the attacker gang is drug peddler and wanted by criminal cases. Very often they were captured by law enforcers and thus they blamed my son and friend as informants of law enforcers. Sub-inspector Abdul Ohab Mia said that the both groups were friends but had recently made distance over mysterious factors and that is the reason why locked clashes with each other.
Officer in Charge of Shiddhirganj police station Moshiur Rahman said that the drive is on to capture the criminals although the case has not been recorded yet.
It is mentioned that Shiddhirganj is a drug hub. Majority incident committed over supremacy on drug peddling of the area.
