A school girl was gang raped at the house of a councillor of Godagari Municiplity in Rajshahi district on Monday evening. Police arrested three alleged rapists including the son of the councillor on Tuesday early morning, informed Khairul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Godagari Model Police station.
Police sources further said, the raped school girl is a student of class IX of local Secondary School. She went to visit the house of councillor Shahidul Islam on Monday evening when the son of councillor along with two of his friends raped her at the house. Father of the victim filed a case accusing three rapists the same night. Police arrested those three rapists from various areas of Godagari.
The arrestees were identified as Osman Gani (16) son of Shahidul Islam, ward councillor-6 of Godagari Municipality of Sreemantpur village, Riduwar Ali Khandker (16) son of Obaidul Haque of the same area and Tarque (17) son of Mostafa of Jodgemadais village. The arrested rapists are also students of class IX and X. Arrested rapists were sent to the court after interrogation this noon. The victim was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for physical test.
