The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday upheld conditional bail granted by High Court to Ayesha Siddiqa Minni in a case lodged over the brutal murder of her husband Rifat Sharif in Barguna, reports BSS.

Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division Justice Hasan Foez Siddique passed “no order” after hearing a plea filed by the sate against the August 29 order of the High Court. A High Court division bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman granted the bail to Minni, declaring ‘absolute’ a rule issued earlier in this regard.

The court while granting her bail, gave conditions of living in her father’s custody and not to talk to media, or else her bail will be canceled. Rifat Sharif was hacked to death in broad daylight in Barguna on June 26. Police on July 16 showed his wife Minni arrested in the case and a court on July 17 placed her on five-day remand.
