SAU celebrates 150th birth anniv of Sher-e-Bangla

The 150th anniversary of birth of the first prime minister of undivided Bengal Sher-e-Bangla Abul Kasem Fazlul Haque was celebrated with due dignity at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University in the capital.

SAU vice-chancellor Professor Md Shahidur Rashid Bhuiyan laid wreath at Sher-e-Bangla's mural at the university's administrative building at 10:00am, said a press release.

SAU pro-vice-chancellor professor Alok Kumar Paul, treasurer Professor Md Nazrul Islam, research director Professor Md Asaduzzaman Khan, MA Wazed Mia Research Centre director Professor Muhammad Ali, IQAC director Professor Tuhin Shubhra Roy, Student Counseling and Guidance director Professor Md Farhad Hossain, SAU Planning, Development and Works director Mohammad Mizanul Haque Kajal, Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine dean KBM Saiful Islam, proctor Professor Md Harun-ur-Rashid, registrar Sheikh Rezaul Karim, directors, provosts of halls, teachers, officials, staff, and students of the university were also present.

After placing the wreath, a special prayer was offered to seek the salvation of the departed soul.

Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque was born on this day in 1873 at Mia Bari in Saturia village of Rajapur in Barisal district.
