RU forms 3-member probe body over disastrous result

A three-member probe body has been formed after the incident of hunger strike of Rajshahi University (RU) Urdu department students in connection with the allegation of result disaster, Public Relations Office Administrator Prof Pradip Kumar Panday confirmed this on Tuesday (December 06) night.

Prof Panday said, “A three-member investigation committee has been formed by making Law dept Prof M Anisur Rahman convenor. They will start their assigned work Wednesday and submit the probe report within seven working days.

However, he did not reveal the names of the other two members except the convener.

Contextually, Students of Rajshahi University Urdu department on Monday morning went on a hunger strike demanding a reevaluation of their answer scripts.

About twenty students in 2019-20 academic sessions began the hunger strike at 10:30 am in front of the administration building of the university.

The students alleged that eight out of thirty-eight students failed in two out of three courses in the published results while every single of them was given poor marks intentionally.

Rajshahi University vice-chancellor Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar broke their hunger strike by making the students drink water at around 9:30 pm on Monday night. He said to the students that a probe body will be formed in this regard.
