A massive fire that ripped through BalukhaliRohingya camp No-11 in Palongkhali union of Ukhiyaupzila on Sunday has been brought under control after it destroyed over 500 houses.
Cox's Bazar Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner MdSamsuddoha said the fire originated in a house of the camp around 3 pm and soon engulfed the adjacent houses, burning down over 500 houses. On information, 10 units of fire services rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 5:15pm, said Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters.
No casualties were reported, he added.
