Road in Tarash not paved in 50 years

The Hedarkhal-Kundail road in Tarash upazila of Sirajganj has been unpaved since independence. When it rains a little, it becomes unsuitable for movement. People are constantly suffering. The locals have been waiting for 50 years in the hope that the dirt road will be paved. But the raw road is no longer paved. The people's representatives are repeatedly making only promises. But so far no work has been done on that road.

It is learned that the suffering of the people has reached its climax due to the three kilometers of unpaved road up to Hedarkhal-Kundail, the junction of Tarash-Baruhas road of the upazila. Every day thousands of people have to travel through this road breaking mud. In the rainy season the road becomes muddy. As a result, vans, bicycles, motorcycles are far away, people get in trouble even on foot. People from different villages including Sanduria, Dhapatetulia, Pratirampur, Kundil, Upazila Sadar use this road. As there is no alternative road, the locals are forced to move by muddy water.

It can be seen on the ground that since it has not been repaired for a long time, the mud is uniform in the water even after a little rain. Numerous small and big holes have been created in the middle of the road. And water is constantly freezing in it. Vehicles are unable to move. It is now difficult to walk. If the road is paved, on the one hand, the suffering of students and people from different villages will be reduced, on the other hand, there will be no need to speed up the transportation of dying patients.

Working people can easily make a living by driving vans and autorickshaws. Farmers of the area will be able to sell paddy, jute and raw crops at low cost.

Locals complained that even though one chairman-MP changed after another, they did not feel the touch of road development.

Jahangir Bakul, a private employee from Sanduria village in Saguna Union, wrote in a post on his Facebook page with a photo, "I came home with my family to understand the current situation of Hedarkhal to Kundil road." How are our locals? There, different people criticized different people including local MPs.

SM Ruwaibin Ahmed wrote, "At a rally in our area, the local MP said he would start work within a year of being elected, but he has not done so yet." Thus many criticize.

Sayem Uddin of Dhapteulia village said it was the only way for thousands of people to travel. This road is flooded on rainy days. Then you have to travel by boat. And it is not possible to walk in the dry season at all. Many times old people fall on the ground and get seriously injured. Motorcycles, vans, cars, bicycles go into the mud and overturn. There is no one to watch all this.

In this regard, Tarash Upazila Engineer Iftekhar Sarwar Dhrub of the Local Government Engineering Department said that the local MP has demanded for one and a half kilometer road. The demand will be sent along with the quick lifting authority. Quick arrangements will be made to facilitate the movement of the locals.
