Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has been working relentlessly to ensure security to the public in general through establishing good governance in its service deliveries.
"We are committed to ensure public security as per desire of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman," said RMP Commissioner Md. Abu Kalam Siddique.
He was addressing a view-sharing meeting with stakeholders on the good governance tools, including Citizen Charter, Annual Performance Agreement, Grievance Redress System and National Integrity Strategy, at his office conference hall today.
Additional Commissioners Faruk Hossain, Bijoy Basak and Samsun Naher also spoke on the occasion.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Golam Ruhul Quddus gave an overview of the good government tools in terms of RMP's service deliveries.
RMP Commissioner Kalam Siddique said they are doing multifarious works for public security coupled with combating the anti-social elements.
He said their Cyber crime unit has attained success in terms of combating crimes related to cyber crimes in the metropolis since its inception on September 17, 2020.
The unit is extending support towards identification and arrest of the criminals in connection with the cyber crimes.
It has been working relentlessly in the field of unearthing clueless incidents, criminal identification and arresting them. Apart from this, it's sending necessary and demand-driven information to the adjacent district through proper channels.
Kalam Siddique has issued a stern warning against the policemen who are involved in drug addiction and drug peddling.
"We have already taken drastic action against some of the policemen who were found involved in drug addiction and trading," he added.
He, however, opined that community support is very important to free the society from all sorts of crimes and anomalies.
