State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said that every religion talks about humanity. Religion keeps people in a discipline. Religion guides people in building a beautiful life and society. We can proudly say to the world, we have made our debut with a humanitarian approach and a non-sectarian approach. This non-sectarian approach was led by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. There are Muslims, Sanatans, Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, people of different religions in this country. He brought everyone together, where the state will be for all. We participated in the Great War of Liberation with such a view of the state of all, and in that war of liberation, no religious group or any caste had a single role. We people of all religions participated in the liberation struggle together and we became victorious.

The state minister said these things in the chief guest speech at the religious discussion organized by the Biral Janmashtami Celebration Parishad on the occasion of the auspicious Janmashtami celebration of Lord Krishna at Biral Upazila Parishad Muktamanch in Dinajpur district on Friday.

The state minister said that a very proud constitution in the history of the world is our constitution of 72. The constitution which talks about the neutrality of religion. Human rights are discussed in the constitution. The constitution which talks about a beautiful social system and its embodiment is Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation. Bangladesh started its journey with that vision, but we deviated from that path midway after the killing of Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family on August 15, 1975. This country is divided by religion, the people of this country have been divided, class discrimination is created. The spirit of our liberation war was equality, that equality has been taken away. But we fought against it.

Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said that we have once again started walking on the path of light under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The rights of people of every religion are now guaranteed. The right to burial for every religious community has been enshrined in the Constitution through the Fifteenth Amendment. Therefore, when the state moves forward with such beautiful thoughts, then the state is good, the country moves forward on the path of development.

The quality of life of the citizens is improved. Today the fundamental rights of Bangladesh have been established. Bangladesh's communal poison was created, today it is gradually weakened. This is the spirit of our liberation war. The national treasure Sheikh Hasina is running the country today with that vision.

President of Biral Janmashtami Celebration Parishad Sukil Chandra Roy presided and General Secretary Surjit Kumar Roy Babul moderated the function as the main speaker Swami Bivatmanandji Maharaj, principal of Ramakrishna Mission and Ashram, Dinajpur. Birol Upazila Executive Officer Afchana Kauchar, Birol Upazila Awami League President and Municipal Mayor Sabujar Siddique Sagar were present on the occasion.

Earlier, the State Minister inaugurated the foundation stone of the second phase of the Hero Freedom Fighters Housing (Veer Niwas) construction project given by the Prime Minister on the occasion of Mujib Year and Golden Jubilee of Independence. Later, the state minister participated in various programs including the Janmashtami program in Bochaganj.
