Renowned businessman Abdul Aziz Chowdhury passes away

Renowned businessman Abdul Aziz Chowdhury died on Tuesday morning at the age of 77.

He has been suffering from age-related diseases for a long time, his son Salauddin Chowdhury, a director of DBC News, told Bangladesh Post. He left behind his wife, two sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Abdul Aziz Chowdhury is famed for establishing a big industrial estate in Gazipur where renowned RMG factories like Viyellatex (unit-2), Interfab, Interlink, Valmont, Panasia, Stylish Garment factories and global mobile companies like OPPO set up their manufacturing hubs.

“My father also played a big role by supporting our freedom fighters in 1971,” his son said.

His final namaz-e-janaza will be held after Asar prayers on Wednesday at Aziz Chowdhury Industrial Estate, Chowdhury Bari, Gazipur City. After that, he will be laid to rest at the family graveyard.

Abdul Aziz Chowdhury also set up many mosques, madrasahs, and orphanages in Gazipur. His contribution to different educational institutions in the Gazipur area is also well-known.
