To facilitate the remittance soldiers, the government has started the registration process of Bangladeshi expatriates to get vaccinated on a priority basis through the Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET) from Friday.

BMET has started the registration process in Surokkha app (subject to being launched) to get the migrants vaccinated.

The registration that started on Friday will be open from 9am to 4pm every day at 42 BMET offices, nine technical training centres and one Marine Technology Institute or through Ami Probashi app.

According to BMET officials, the government has decided to provide vaccines to expatriate workers on a priority basis so that they can return to their workplaces in a safe and risk-free manner.

Those who are not registered with BMET will have to register themselves on the BMET database using a valid passport and after that they will be able to register for vaccination through Surokkha app.

However, those registered on the BMET database after January 2021 will not have to register again.

Expatriates registered in the BMET database will be also able to register for the urgent vaccination through www.surokkha.gov.bd to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

After the successful registration in Surokkha app, the date and place of vaccination will be sent to the concerned through SMS.

The migrant workers have been asked to follow health guidelines while registering at the district offices of BMET.
