Red Crescent stands by Covid-hit floating people

The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society on Sunday served cooked food to the floating as well as low-income people affected by Covid-19 pandemic in Dhaka.

 The government is enforcing a lockdown due to the rise of Covid-19 cases in Bangladesh. But it affects the income of the low-income people.

The Red Crescent Society said they were distributing food among the poor people from the beginning of the holy Ramadan. Each day 300 people are getting food packets from them.

Besides, Chattogram unit of the Red Crescent also distributed food among 320 poor people in the last three days while Munshiganj served food to 50 people and Habiganj 1300 people.

 They will continue to distribute food throughout the Ramadan.

Acting Chairman of the Red Crescent Prof Dr Md Habibe Millat visited the national headquarters of the Red Crescent to see the food preparations on Sunday.
