The government built a bypass road from Women College intersection to Upazila Press Club intersection, adjacent to rail gate area, to reduce traffic congestion at Raninagar in Naogaon in 2016.

At present this substitute road becomes out of order. Many potholes are seen here and there on the midst of this road. In dry season, vehicles can ply on it without any problems, but in the rainy season it becomes a death trap. The people have been suffering a lot due to the dilapidated condition of the road.

Local people said that this road should be renovated immediately to avoid serious loss of life. Local MP and upazila chairman took initiative to make this by pass road.

Before that, huge traffic jam was seen at Bijoy mor. Moajjem Hossain from upazila’s Purbovalubola said, “This bypass road is very much important for us. Truck, goods loaded tructor, Votvoti and Van ply on this road and as a result no traffic jam has seen at the Bijoy’s mor. Local van driver Azad, Rahman and others claimed that they have to take life risk to cross this little distance of this road especially at the monsoon season”.

“We’ve submitted all the necessary documents at the upazila engineer office to repair this road. Hopefully, the renovation work will start in shortly,” said, Asaduzzaman Pintu, Chairman of Khoteshor Union Parishad.
