RAB busts robbery gang in Narayanganj

Rapid Action Battalion-11 members conducting a raid on Dhaka-Narayanganj link road near Chashara area under Fatulla police station detained six robbers who were preparing to rob a bank in Narayanganj town on Monday.

RAB recovered a foreign pistol, a magazine, 2 rounds of bullets, 5 long sharp weapons and a bag from their possession at the time. A microbus of Noah brand used by the robbers during robberry was also seized by RAB members.

The detainees were identified as Omar Faruq, 25, resident of Brahmondi village of Arihazar upazila, Imran Bhuiyan, 31, resident of Govindopur village of Sonargoan upazila, Faisal, 20, resident of Theguriapara of Arihazar upazila, Sibbir Ahmed, 24, resident of Noabda village of Arihazar upazila, Salahuddin, 23, resident of Noabda village of Arihazar of Narayanganj and Sobuj, 19, resident of Dostordi village of Madhabdi upazila of Narsingdi. Commanding officer of RAB-11 Lieutenant Colonel Imranullah Sarker told the media that the detained robber gang was well equipped to commit a robbery in a bank which they admitted during primary interrogation. A case was registered with Fatulla model police station in this connection.
