RAB arrests Kabir for attacking police in Lohagara

RAB-7 has arrested Kabir, the main accused in the case filed against him for cutting off his wrist at the hands of a policeman of Lohagara Police Station in Chattogram.

 There are 6 cases against him in different police stations on various charges including illegal weapons, attempted murder and beating.

 He was arrested on Thursday night from a deep hilly area of Bara Hatiyar in Lohagara upazila.  At that time 1 da, 1 shooter gun, 3 round shells, 3 rounds of bullets, 2 hasua, 1 knife, 180 pieces of yaba, 2 mobiles, 2 SIM cards were recovered from them.

 Khandaker Al Moin, Director of RAB's law and media branch, said this a press conference at RAB-7 office in Chandgaon on Friday morning. He said three cases would be filed against Kabir Ahmed, the main accused in the case of amputation of the wrist of police constable Md Johny Khan.  He was arrested on Thursday night in a hilly area of Barahatiya Union in Lohagara.

  His accomplice Kafil Uddin was arrested.  Weapons, ammunition and drugs were found in their possession.  Photos used in the attack on police have been seized.  Kabir Ahmed was later admitted to CMC Hospital. He said Kabir Ahmed had fled to the South Hangar area of Bandarban after the attack on a police constable.  Fearing capture, he moved to hilly area of Barahatiya Union in Lohagara.  Upon receiving the news of his whereabouts, RAB-7 launched an operation from 7 pm to 10 pm on Thursday.  RAB constable Md. Akram was injured when Kabir fired at the presence of RAB.  The RAB also fired back in self-defence.  The Kabir was shot in the leg.

 RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Mohammad Nurul Abshar said Kabir, the main accused in the case filed against him for cutting off the wrist of a policeman while trying to catch the accused at Lohagara in Chattogram. He was arrested in a RAB operation.  At that time, a member of RAB was injured by Kabir's knife.
