Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) arrested a presumed active member of banned militant organisation ‘Allahor Dal’ from in front of Apollo Hospital in Gaibandha district town in the early hours on Wednesday, reports BSS.
“On a tip off, a special operational team of RAB-13 conducted a raid inthe area and arrested the militant,” said a press release issued by Media Officer of RAB-13 Major Galib Muhammad Natikur Rahman.
The arrested member is Md. Faruk Hossain, 43, son of Osman Gani Mollah of village Durgapur in Gaibandha Sadar upazila.
During interrogation, the arrested militant admitted that he had been regularly attending secret meetings and enlisting new members for the banned militant organisation for about the last 12 years. After filing a case against the arrested man, the elite force handed him over to Gaibandha Sadar Thana.
