A female student of a private university was killed in a road accident in Khulna on Thursday evening. The accident took place on Khulna-Satkhira Highway near Khulna University area.
The deceased was identified as Anika Kumkum Nisha, 22, daughter of Mollah Abu Zafor of Gogon Babu Road area in Khulna city. She was a student of 7th semester of Business and Technology department of Northern University.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police Sheikh Moniruzzaman Mithu confirmed the matter. He said that Nisha was sitting in the back seat of her friend's motorcycle. Suddenly she slipped from the back seat of the motorcycle and fell down on the road. Then a bus ran over her, leaving her dead on the spot.
Nisha's body was sent to the morgue of Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy. After the post mortem, the body was handed over to her family. Nisha was buried on Friday.
Meanwhile, soon after the accident, police detained the motorcyclist for interrogation. Later, he was released.
