While bathing at Sea Gull Point of Cox’s Bazar beach, a student of East-West University named Fatin Itmam Mahmud, 23, drowned on Friday afternoon. Fatin Itmam Mahmud was the son of Mahmudul Hossain, of Mirpur 12, Basupara C Block in the capital. He was an Honours third year student of English Department at East-West University.
Cox’s Bazar Tourist Police ASP Mohammad Mohiuddin Ahmed said on Friday morning Fatin along with his 4 other friend came to Cox's Bazar on motorcycle and went to bathe in the sea at Sea Gull point, adjacent to Sea-Gull Hotel.
Fatin drowned while bathing at the beach during Ebb-tide. He was later rescued by the tourist police and sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital by them. The doctor on duty at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital declared him dead. In this regard Cox's Bazar Sadar Police Station filed an unnatural death case.
