PU arranges seminar on molecular pathogenesis

The Department of Microbiology of Primeasia University (PU) has organized a seminar on “Molecular Pathogenesis of Preeclampsia and its Therapeutic Intervention: A Translational Approach” on Wednesday at its IQAC Conference Center of its campus Banani, Dhaka.

Professor Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, vice chancellor (VC) of PU graced the seminar as the chief guest while Professor M Nasir Uddin, PhD, FAHA, director of Research, Maternal Fetal and Neonatal Medicine College of Medicine, Texas A&M College University, USA was the keynote speaker in the seminar.

Professor Dr Suvamoy Datta, chairman of Microbiology Department presided over the seminar. Abul Kashem Molla, registrar, Professor Dr AJM Omar Faruque, Dean, School of Science and Professor Dr Zahed Uddin Mahmud Khan, Advisor of Microbiology department of Primeasia University were present in the seminar as the special guests. Among others, Professor Dr AHM Habibur Rahman, dean, School of Business, Professor SK Hasanuzzaman, dean, School of Engineering, heads of the departments, faculty members, officers and students from the department of Microbiology took part in the programme

 The keynote speaker emphasis on Preeclampsia which is a pregnancy disorder causes high blood pressure and found protein in urine after 20 weeks of pregnancy period of time. He also focused on its prevention by controlling mother’s blood pressure, diabetics, obesity and diet.
