On the occasion of Shardia Durga Puja, great preparations have been taken by law and order to deal with the unpleasant situation in the Mandaps.
The latest law and order meeting was held with the District Police with the Puja Celebration Committee. Chittagong District Police Superintendent Nure Alam Mina presided over the exchange of views.
Officer’s in-charge of District 16 Police Station and Chairman and general secretary of the 16 police stations participated in the program.
Speaking to the president, Chittagong District Superintendent of Police Nure Alam Mina said, "Chittagong District Police has taken all security measures to celebrate Shardia Durga Puja peacefully."
As a matter of importance, measures have been taken to appoint forces in proportion to the worship centers.
The uniform police, DB police and white dressed police will be deployed. The first level security will be on each mandap, a patrol team for 5-7 Mandap at the second level, and a police inspector at the third level, the officer in charge of the officer in charge, the fourth level will be the DB of the district headquarters, the special team and the DSB and the additional SP at the fifth level. All Additional SP of the department will be in charge of overall supervision.
During the meeting, DIG Khandaker Golam Faruk of Chittagong Range told that 3,000 police forces would be deployed for the security of all Puja Mandap in 16 police stations of 15 upazilas of Chittagong district. Ansar will be accompanied by the police. As well as a few venues, the petrol team is also there. They will turn around and monitor the places of worship. All preparations have been taken by the police to ensure the overall security of Durga Puja. Special instructions have also been given to the district police superintendents in this regard.
