­Police should enforce the rules of law at the first: IGP

Mohammad Javed Patwary, Inspector General of Police in Rajshahi has said police should come forward at first to enforce the rule of law because police can apply more laws than the other law enforcement agencies that is why the duty and responsibility of the police is far greater than any other agency. 

IGP Javed Patwary was addressing as the chief guest at the function of passing out parade of Sub-Inspectors of Police of 37th batch at Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah of Charghat upazila on Sunday morning. 

He said, the government has modernised various rules aiming to establish legal and constitutional rights of the people and the police should come forward to ensure rules of law. He added police should conduct their assigned duties neutrally and by remaining above all greed. They should be sympathetic towards the women, child, elderly people and the disabled.  

Earlier the IGP visited the concluding parade of the SIs of 37 batches where 1,759 SIs participated. 

The function was attended, among others, by Nazibur Rahman and Abdullahil Baki, Principal and the Vice-Principal of Police Academy respectively,  AKM Hafiz Akhter, DIG Of Police, Rajshahi range, Humayun Kabir, RMP Commissioner and Mohammed Shahidullah, Superintendent of Police of Rajshahi.
