Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday said she will offer tea to the BNP leaders and give them a patient hearing even if they come to seize her office (Prime Minister's Office) as she believes in democracy.
Country’s all political parties including BNP are enjoying freedom of expression in streets and media. The ruling Awami League (AL) always wants a participatory and competitive national election which will be held in time according to the constitutional procedures and with the participation of all political parties. So, there is no restriction on BNP’s procession, wherever they want they can go.
PM’s offer indicates the door to hold talks over political issues between Sheikh Hasina, also President of ruling AL and BNP’s stalwarts, remains open. But, if they (BNP) hurl bombs and get engaged in vandalism in the name of political programme, they would be dealt with an iron hand.
Sheikh Hasina has again proved her wisdom, respect towards opposition political parties, prudency, effectiveness, competence and skills in the country’s political arena offering tea to BNP leaders. She does not believe in repression but in the constitutional and democratic rights of all parties and all thoughts.

The BNP should act as a responsible political party, shun working against public interest and take an initiative to hold talks with the prime minister directly. They will place their demands and opinions before prime minister during the talks. We believe if they (BNP) give good suggestions, the prime minister will definitely consider those.
Sheikh Hasina has acquired people’s trust and confidence as they feel Bangladesh is safe as it is in the hands of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu’s daughter. If BNP senior leaders enjoy cups of tea with Sheikh Hasina at PMO, they will not return empty-handed. But, after failing in democratic movement and getting rejected by the country's people due to their destructive and anti-national politics, the BNP leaders are doing the politics of sabotage and hatching conspiracy in order to create anarchy.
The party has completely failed to gain people’s confidence and trust. If BNP leaders and activists shun the path of violence, arson attacks and conspiracies against the country and its people, they will retain the confidence and trust of the people again. Therefore, the party should grab the Sheikh Hasina’s offer at any cost and play a vital role.
