Ranju Lal Sarkar, an employee of Rajshahi Divisional Passport and Visa Office, was allegedly abducted by miscreants from in front of Shal Bagan Power House in Rajshahi city on Saturday morning.
Sources informed, abducted Ranju Lal Sarkar is an Office Assistant of the Passport Office in Rajshahi and a resident of Habiganj district. He used to live with family at a rented house in Shalbagan area of the city.
Azmal Kabir, Assistant Director of Rajshahi Divisional Passport and Visa office informed, Ranju Lal Sarkar was abducted in presence of Mozibar Rahman, Computer Operator of the Passport office.
Quoting Mozibar, Azmal Kabir informed around 11-45 am Ranju and Mozibar were walking towards Shalbagan crossing when a silver coloured microbus stopped in front of them. Four to five people deporting from the microbus want to learn from them the name of the area and suddenly those people pushed Ranju into the microbus and they also rode on it and drove away the microbus within a minute.
Azmal Kabir said, following the message from Mozibar, he informed police about the abduction of Ranju. Police has already started investigation into the incident but no one has the idea why Ranju was abducted. Damily members of Ranju would file a case with concerned police station in this connection soon.
Humayun Kabir, Officer in charge of Chandrima police station informed, they have watched a CC came footage of the area but nothing clear was visible. They have started investigation into the incident and police also launched operation to rescue Ranju, he added.
