Palak visits Nokia Bell Lab

The handset maker starts assembling its latest phone line in Kaliakair

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Thursday visited Nokia Bell Lab, a research arm of world-renowned mobile phone company Nokia, located in Mary Hill, New Jersey, USA. During this time he visited various branches of the lab and exchanged views with the company superiors. Nokia authorities briefed the Minister of State about the lab's research activities through a PowerPoint presentation.  The Minister of State discussed areas of mutual cooperation with Bangladesh and strategic sales and solutions.

The State Minister for ICT briefed them on the various activities undertaken to tackle the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the overall progress of the ICT sector in Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and under the supervision of ICT Advisor and Architect of Digital Bangladesh Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed.

It is to be mentioned that Nokia, once the world leader in mobile phones, is returning to the digital infrastructure industry! They have recently started assembling their latest phone line in Bangladesh in partnership with Vibrant at Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur.

 Nokia Bell Labs is the world headquarters for Nokia phone research and this lab hosts the first end-to-end 5G and 6G tests. Daniel Jaager, Head of Marketing at Nokia's Southeast Asia Unit, Mike Allison, Vice President of North America's Strategic Sales and Solutions Division; Dr. Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Policy Advisor of A2I Anir Chowdhury was present during the visit.
