Orthopedic Society pays tribute to Bangabandhu

Central leaders of Bangladesh Orthopedic Society have paid tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman marking his birth centenary. They placed wreath at grave of Bangabandhu at Tungipara in Gopalganj on Sunday (March 1). 

President of the society and director of National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) Dr Abdul Goni and Secretary General of the society Dr Wahidur Rahman led the delegation team. 

After placing wreath, members of the Orthopedic Society delegation stood there in solemn silence to show respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation. 

Gopalganj unit’s general secretary of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) and Dr Humain Kabir, Gopalganj Civil Surgeon Dr Nawaj Mohammad, Associate Director of Gopalganj 250-Bed 

Hospital Dr Ashit Kumar Mollik, Health and Family Planning Officer of Upazila Health Complex Dr Asadujjaman Hawladar and Tungipara UP Chairman Md Solaiman Biswash were present at the time, among others. 

The team members joined a special munajat there, seeking eternal peace of Bangabandhu and his family members who was murdered on August 15 in 1975 and better health of his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Later, the Orthopedic Society delegation provided free medical treatment to 300 orthopedic patients tat Tungipara Upazila Health Complex.
