Orientation on mass dog vaccination held in Jhenidah

A daylong orientation on Mass Dog Vaccination (MDV) was held at the conference of Upazila Health Complex conference room on Sunday. The orientation was arranged under the mass dog prevention programme of the department of health services.

Chaired by upazila health and family planning officer Rashed Al Mamun, upazila parishad chairman Shikder Mosharraf Hossain Sona attended as chief guest. Upazila primary education officer Israil Hossain Medical officers of Shailkupa health complex Sazzad Rahimee and Kanak Hossain, MDV supervisors Tanjil Hossain and Mominul Islam among others spoke. Veterinary officer of the communicable disease control cell Sefaul Islam presented the key note during the inception of the orientation programme. 

The speakers said the government has taken initiatives not to kill any beast considering their rights as animals. The MDV might help make the dogs poison-less and there will be no effect of the bite to human or ay lives. At least 70 per cent of the dogs including the domestic ones will come under the programme.
