Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an alleged illegal arms peddler along with two pistols, three magazines and nine bullets from Shologarir Beel area under Gomostapur Upazila in the district Tuesday evening, reports BSS.
The arrested person was identified as Md. Mominul Islam Montu, 25, son of Md. Mokhleshur Rahman of Shologari Village under Niamatpur Upazila in Naogaon district.
RAB said, acting on secret information, an operation team of RAB-5 from Rajshahi Mollapara camp raided the area around 5:30pm and arrested Mominul with the arms and ammunition.
Later, the arrested person was handed over to the police of Gomostapur Thana with a case, RAB added.
