NSTU student becomes 2nd runner up of Budget Olympiad

Ridoy Majumder, a Batch-6 student of Department of Economics of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), became the second runner-up in the final round of the Budget Olympiad-2019.

He was the 1st  runner-up in the Noakhali Region Round of the Budget Olympiad 2019, held in Noakhali Science and Technology University ( NSTU) on 24 October.

Top 100 participants from five regional rounds participated in the final round of Budget Olympiad 2019, held in Conference Hall of Faculty of Business Studies  of Dhaka University. The top three participants were given prize money and crests.

The Budget Olympiad is organized to popularize the budget discourse among the young people. The core objective of this olympiad is to mobilize and sensitize youth and students on the discussion of national budgetary issues and popular concerns around its planning process. After winning local and regional level, participants gathered to take part in the final event at National level. 

Several companies including ActionAid Bangladesh and Global Platform Bangladesh sponsored the Olympiad. Daily Samakal was the Organizing Media Partner and Samakal Suhrid Samabesh was the Youth Engagement Partner.
