Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Iqbal Mahmood on Thursday said the commission is working to reach a message to the society that none is above law. “The aim of the commission is to reach a message to each and everybody that we are not above law,” he told the conference of the deputy commissioners (DCs) at the secretariat in the capital, reports BSS.

Seeking cooperation from the DCs to root out corruption, Mahmood said there exists a deep relation between the ACC and the cabinet division. That is why, the cabinet division is letting the government know about all reform activities of the ACC. The government is also taking positive initiatives for its political will against corruption,” he added.

He said a coordinated initiative is necessary in education sector to root out corruption, irregularity and unethical activities from the society. The ACC chief urged the DCs to monitor the attendance of teachers in the class rooms and also their professional activities. He said the commission has already established ‘Sotota Sangha’ at around 28,000 educational institutions aiming to infuse moral values into the youths. The ACC chairman urged the DCs to take more effective actions to curb the corruption.
