Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has said sports is power. There is no alternative to sports to build a healthy and strong nation. There is no substitute for sports to keep the nation away from drugs and subcultures.
“The more the sports sector can be developed, the more we will develop. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the head of the sports friendly government. He has immense passion and love for those involved in sports. During his time, under the patronage of the state, the boys and girls of Bangladesh have brought fame in the field of sports. This patronage will continue in the future,” he said.
The minister made the comment while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman National Gold Cup Football Tournament Boys (Under-17) at Pirojpur District Stadium here on Saturday morning. Pirojpur Sadar Upazila Administration organized the event. At the time, the minister further said that Bangladesh would not exist if Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was not born.
