Abdur Razzak, the Agriculture Minister said that this memorial is constructed to preserve the history of the War of Liberation and to make the new generation known the brutal act by Pakistani forces. Abdur Razzak said this today while inaugurating the renovation of the slaughterhouse adjacent to the water tank of Tangail district headquarters and inaugurating the newly constructed monument.

He said that the trial of war criminals is underway. Those who have not been brought to justice must face trail. Sanwar Hossain, Tanvir Hassan Chota Moni, Fazlur Rahman Khan Faruk (Chairman, Tangail Zilla Parishad), Freedom Fighters and others were present at the function chaired by Deputy Commissioner Shahidul Islam.

During the great liberation war, Pakistani invaders, with the help of Razakars, captured and tortured freedom fighters, killed them and thrown their bodies in the jungle adjacent to the water-tank of the Tangail district headquarters. The slaughterhouse has long been under neglected.

So, slaughterhouse has been renovated and the monument has been constructed newly with the initiative of the Tangail District Administration.
