National Bank Limited, a first-generation private commercial bank of the country, opened a sub-branch at Sadarpur upazila in Faridpur district on 22 June to make banking services available in the remote area.
Deputy Managing Director of the bank Syed Rois Uddin announced the formal launch of the sub-branch as the chief guest of the event.
While speaking at the ceremony, he especially remembered Zainul Haque Sikdar, the late chairman and sponsor director of the bank, one of the organisers of the Liberation War and a valiant freedom fighter.
Besides officers and employees of the sub-branch, prominent businessmen, freedom fighters, social workers and people from various walks of life and professions were present at the ceremony. The event ended with special prayers offered seeking the welfare of the country and the nation.
