Nat’l Children’s Day and Bangabandhu’s birth anniv celebrated countrywide

The nation on Friday (March 17) celebrated the 103rd birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day-2023 in a befitting manner.

On this day in 1920, Bangabandhu, the vivacious leader of the Bangalee nation, the architect of independent Bangladesh and the greatest Bangalee of all times, was born in a respected Muslim family at Tungipara village of Gopalganj sub-division, now district.

He was the third among four daughters and two sons of his parents - Sheikh Lutfur Rahman and Saira Khatun.

The nation observed the day through extensive programmes with fanfare and gaiety.

In Lakshmipur, district administration celebrated the day with due dignity by holding various programs throughout the day on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's 103rd birth anniversary and National Children's Day. 

In observance of the day, former minister and parliament member (MP) AKM Shahjahan Kamal, parliament member (MP) from Lakshmipur-2 constituency and district Awami League general secretary Advocate Nur Uddin Chowdhury Noyon, DC of Lakshmipur Anowar Hossain Akhanda, police super Mahfuzzaman Ashraf, president of district Awami League  Golam Faruque Pinku, Municipality Mayor Mojammel Hayder Masum Bhuiyan placed floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at district’s Collectorate Bhaban premises this morning.

In Ishwardi upazila of Pabna, upazila administration celebrated the day by holding various day-long programs on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's 103rd birth anniversary and National Children's Day.

 In observance of the day, Ishwardi upazila administration, Awami League leaders, different government-non government organisations, social and cultural organisations organised different programms including flag hoisting, placing floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day-2023 was celebrated In Rangpur on Friday.

The district and divisional level civil and police administrations, Awami League, Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) and many other organizations chalked out colorful programs to celebrate Bangabandhu's birth anniversary.

The 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children Day-2023 was celebrated in Rajshahi in a befitting manner on Friday.

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), divisional and district administrations, police administration, corporate bodies, educational institutions, Awami League (AL), its associate organisations, Bangabandhu Shishu Kishor Mela, socio-cultural and children organisations celebrated the day through elaborate programmes. 

In Panchagarh , the 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children Day- 2023 was observed in a befitting manner.  

 In observance of the day, parliament member (MP) from Panchagarh-1 constituency  Md, Mojaharul Huque Prodhan , DC of Panchagarh Md, Johurul Islam, police super S.M. Sirajul Huda , general secretary of district Awami League  Anower Sadat Samrat, Panchagarh Municipality Mayor Zakia Katun  placed a floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Circuit House area.

Chattogram Port Authority celebrated the day with due dignity by holding various programs throughout the day on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's 103rd birth anniversary and National Children's Day.

On Friday morning, Chattogram Port Authority Chairman Rear Admiral M Shahjahan and all the members of CPA laid wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation at the port building premises.

In Chuadanga’s Jibannagar upazila, upazila administration observed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's 103rd birth anniversary and National Children's Day by holding various programs throughout the day.

In Bogura, the day  was observed in the district in a befitting manner. District administration took out various programmes, including hoisting of the national flag, discussion and placing a wreath at the mural of Bangabandhu. 

In observance of the day, parliament member from Bogura-6 constituency  and District Awami League General Secretary Ragebul Ahsan Ripu, District Commissioner (DC) Md. Saiful Islam, District Awami League President Mojibur Rahman Majnu, Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary) of Local Government Department Masum Ali Beg, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Ujjal Kumar Ghosh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Nilufa Yasmin, freedom fighters, among others, placed floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu in the District Commissioner's office this morning.

District Awami league, educational institutions and other organizations, government and non government offices, and social and cultural bodies placed floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu one after one.

In the morning around 11 am, a colourful joy rally was bought out from the Bogura district administration office premise  which paraded the important streets and ended at the auditorium of Bogura Zilla School.

On the occasion of the day, a birthday cake was cut with children and teenagers at the Bogura Zilla School.

Marking the day, sweets and toys were distributed among the children at Muhammad Ali Hospital this morning. District Civil Surgeon Dr. Shafiul Azam, Superintendent of Muhammad Ali Hospital Dr. Nuruzzaman, Dr. Sharmin Afroz, Dr. Anika Tahsin, among others, were present. 

On the day, District Awami League hoisted national and party flags at the party office this morning around 7.30am. 

The significance of the day was highlighted and discussion was held at the AL party office this morning.

District Awami League general secretary Ragebul Ahsan Ripu MP, Advocate Abdul Mateen, TT Zaman Niketa, AKM Asadur Rahman Dulu, Shahadat Alam Jhunu, Advocate Zakir Hossain Nawab among others, spoke with  District Awami League President Mujibur Rahman Majnu in the chair.

In Manikganj, the people of Manikganj today observed the 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children's Day-2023 in a befitting manner. 

The celebration formally started with placing of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at the Freedom Fighter Memorial (Shahid Muktijoddha Smriti Stambha) in the morning.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Abdul Latif, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Golam Azad Khan, Manikganj District Council Chairman also the President of District Awami League Advocate Golam Mohiuddin, Manikganj Municipality Mayor Md. Ramjan Ali and heads of educational institutions, leaders of political parties and cultural bodies placed the wreathes at the portrait of the Father of the Nation.

One-hundred and three children, wearing Mujib Coats, flew festoons, balloons and pigeons and cut 103 cakes at Manikganj Government High School Playground (Bijoy Mela Math) celebrating the day.

 Distribution of prizes among the winners of essay, quiz on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, recitation, painting, singing and dances was also included in the programs. 

The competitions were held on the previous day under the auspices of Zilla Shishu Academy and Zilla Shilpakala Academy. 

Improved diets and sweets were served to inmates of different hospitals, jail, Government Shishu Paribar.

After the Jummah special prayers at all mosques in the district and prayers at other worships were held seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Bangabandhu and continuous peace and prosperity of the nation. 

Meanwhile Manikganj District Police observed the day with various programmes.

District Awami League and District Jubo League also observed the day amid various programs that included placing wreath at the portraits of Father of the Nation and arranging discussion and dua-mahfil.
