Mushfiq likely to miss Pakistan T20’s

Bangladesh are busy preparing for the upcoming T20 series against Pakistan. The final squad for the series has not yet been announced. Most of the cricketers who took part in the just-concluded World Cup, as well as a few new recruits, have started training in Mirpur. However, it is noteworthy that the experienced Mushfiqur Rahim is not seen with the team even after returning to the country after a holiday.

Bangladesh team returned home on November 5 after the T20 World Cup wrapped in despair. However, four cricketers stayed in the UAE on leave. Among them were captain Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim. At the end of the holiday they have already started practicing back in the country. However, Mahmudullah was seen in the team practice but Mushfiqur is not available.

Mushfiqur practiced separately with the red ball at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on Monday. Mushfiqur batted with the red ball with Mehdi Hasan Miraj separately, which is a sign that he might not play white-ball cricket (T20).  Mushfiqur may not have a place in the squad for the three-match T20 series against Pakistan. Speculation is rife that he is only preparing for the two-match Test series.
