Repatriation of the  forcibly displaced  Rohingyas from  Myanmar is likely to begin soon.

A special initiative has started amid global situation after Ukraine war. A team from Chinese embassy in Dhaka and designated people from  foreign office of   Bangladesh are visiting the camp area today. A team from Mayanmar is also scheduled to visit the area, a diplomatic source said.

For making the ground preparation of the much- talked -about Rohingya repatriation, some Chinese high officials and experts will visit Rohingya camps and other adjacent areas today morning.

According to sources in the foreign ministry, some senior officials of the Foreign Ministry will also accompany the Chinese delegation.

In the Chinese team members there will be some Chinese experts, who will examine how to speed up the Rohingya repatriation within the shortest possible  time.

The Chinese experts will also oversee the feasibility  of constructing  a new bridge in Myanmar border in Cox’s Bazar for rapid repatriation process to Myanmar.

Several times Myanmar junta government assured his counterpart Bangladesh government of immediately starting  Rohingya repatriation.

According to  refugee experts, when the Myanmar military regime is under international pressure, only then they become interested in Rohingya repatriation. But when the pressure is over, Myanmar again starts making dilly dally on the issue of Rohingya crisis.

But now diplomatic sources hinted that Myanmar government is going to take back their citizens from Bangladesh phase by phase with the utmost sincerity.

As Myanmar’s main powerhouse China has put pressure on his ally Myanmar to solve Rohingya issue with Bangladesh , they became serious to take back their Rohingya people without any excuse and unnecessary delay .

This time the super power China is directly mediating the whole process. Chinse government also warned  Myanmar of the consequence, if Myanmar tries to make any excuse to foil the long awaited repatriation move this time.

China also assured it’s long standing partner  Bangladesh of providing all-out support for making the latest repatriation move a compete success, diplomatic sources said.

Bangladesh has again  sought cooperation from China to repatriate Rohingya refugees to Myanmar during  the last visit by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

China had used its influence in Myanmar to broker a November 2017 agreement to repatriate about 700,000 Rohingya who fled persecution in Myanmar in August that year.

Despite attempts to send them back, the refugees refused, fearing danger in Myanmar, which was exacerbated by the military takeover last year.

Wang  also met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and  discussed Rohingya issue.

Bangladesh has strong relations with China, which is a major trade partner mostly for raw materials. But maintaining close ties with Beijing is challenging for Bangladesh, which also balances diplomatic and trade relationships with India and the United States, China’s main rivals.

Bangladesh also sought the European Union’s (EU) role to put pressure on Myanmar for early repatriation of the Rohingya community to their place of origin in the Rakhine State.

Bangladesh mentioned that the countries like the UK, US, Spain, Japan, Korea, and France are investing and doing even more trading with Myanmar.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on June  20 again  asked how long could her country bear such a huge burden of more than 1 million Rohingya refugees.

More than 1.1 million Rohingyas sheltered in Bangladesh are causing a long-term social problems in the country, as many of them are engaged in arms, drug, and women trafficking

The Prime Minister said Bangladesh is providing temporary shelter to 100,000 Rohingyas on Bhasan Char Island where they will get better facilities.
