Maleka Begum, mother of Bir Shrestho Mostafa Kamal, passed away. She breathed her last at her home in Moutupi village of Alinagar union in Bhola Sadar upazila at 7.45 am on Tuesday. She was 96 years old at the time of his death.
For a long time, she was suffering from geriatric disease and was admitted to Bhola Sadar Hospital on August 8 after falling seriously ill. Later, when her condition deteriorated, Maleka Begum was airlifted to Dhaka by an army helicopter on August 20 for advanced treatment and admitted to the ICH of CMH.
She was brought to Bhola last week after her condition improved. Maleka Begum, mother of Mostafa Kamal, was given a house by the government in Mautupi village of Alinagar union in Bhola. Besides, the name of Moutupi village has been changed to Mostafa Kamal Nagar. For a long time Maleka Begum lived in the same house with her eldest son and grandchildren.
