A mother of six children was found dead at Uttar Poikkhali village in Bhandaria upazila on early Sunday under unclear circumstances.
The deceased was identified as Beauty Begum, 40, wife of Md Firoz Alam of the area.
Quoting family members and locals, SM Maksudur Rahman, Officer-In-Charge of Bhandaria Police Station said some unidentified miscreants slaughtered Beauty around 12:30 am and dumped the body outside the door.
On information, police recovered the body around 1:30 am and sent it to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital for autopsy, OC added.
Beauty’s husband and two others were detained for interrogation, the OC said. The motive for the murder is unclear but police say they suspect the woman might have been killed over family feud.
