Month-long prog marking Bangabandhu’s birth day, Independence Day begins

Bangladesh  Awami League (AL), Khulna city unit, has taken month-long programme to celebrate the 52nd Independence day in a befitting manner, a press release of AL said in Khulna on Saturday.

The decision has been taken in an extended meeting of city unit of AL at the party office with its president Talukder Abdul Khaleque in the chair.

The programmes including  peace meeting in front of the party office on March 4, hoisting of national and party flags, paying tributes to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, discussion meeting at the party office, bring to light publicly of Bangabandhu’s historical 7th March speech in each of the ward and thana units and screening of Bangabandhu’s life and sketch on March 7.

Marking the 102 birth anniversary of Bangabandhu on March 17, hoisting of national and party flags at the party office, paying tributes to the monument of Bangabandhu at the deputy commissioner’s office premises and a gathering at Shaheed Hadis Park. A painting competition will be held at the same venue.

Tributes will also be paid at the memorial of freedom fighters at Gallyamari on the black night of March 25 maintaining holiness of Ramadan.

National and party flags will be hoisted and tributes will be paid at the portrait of Bangabandhu at the party office marking the Independence Day on March 26.

A pleasure rally will be held keeping holiness of Ramadan which will be followed by a discussion. AL office will also be illuminated marking the day, the press release added.
